Laura was born and raised in Hong Kong to a British father and a Timorese-Indonesian mother. Originally a rugby player by trade, her love of acting started at 14 years old, when she started getting more involved in different productions and performances at school. Studying drama at a higher level in high school, she learned quite a few theatre methods and from different practitioners, having a particular interest in modern and post-modern theatre. After completing high school, she worked as a teaching assistant at an international school, but recognised a deep-rooted desire to learn and explore more within performance, but wished to step out of her comfort zone. As a result, she was selected to join the first ever cohort of the Acting for Global Screen Programme. Outside of her studies, Laura is a drama teacher for young children, working with the youth theatre group Faust International, and teaches from the age of 4 to 12. You may also catch her in a film here or there, including in a professional project (film is yet to be released). She also spends her extra time exploring her love of photography and film making.
